Intex High Output Hand Pump Review

The pump itself is a pretty basic thing. The hose is decent enough to do the job.But what I did not like about this pump was the amount of time and energy it took to pump up a full sized air mattress. My son is 9 years old and has more energy than most kids. This puppy wore him out!Maybe I should have given the product another star for that.If you want a basic pump for a few weekend trips a year this is a functionally cheap pump.If you need this for a 3 week trek in Norway as I did, splurge for the battery powered models.

INTEX RECREATION CORP 68615-E HIHGH OUTPUT HAND PUMP 19" Review

I just got this pump a couple of weeks ago, and it has performed great! It inflates my Coleman kayak in less than 10 minutes without straining (blowing it up without it took over 1/2 hour and feeling like I was going to throw up). It has a very simple mechanism that disassembles easily for educational or repair purposes. A big advantage is that it can be used to suck the air out of things just by switching the hose to the other end, which is great for collapsing the kayak into the smallest bundle.

Product Description:
File this under "why didn't I think of that." This high-volumepump, designed to inflate any raft you happen upon, forces air both onthe upstroke and the down so you actually get your pumping done in halfthe time. Not only that, just switch the hose connection and it can beused to deflate as well. It comes with three different nozzleattachments so it will fit most valves as well as product informationon the side of the box in 12 languages. It's not often the word "cool"comes to mind when describing a pump, but this one fits the bill. -- John Moe
