King 9000 Adjustable Sleep Comfort Select Number Air Bed Review

Huh? Looks like jmullins does not know which company they ordered a bed from! They posted 6 negative reviews on 1/13/10 from 6 different companies for 6 different beds they are not happy with.

Looks like this bed is the same one sold on-line at Sam's Club-mostly positive reviews there...

Sleep Number p6 King Bed Set by Select Comfort Review

First note that we do not have the p6, we have the 5000, which based on price and features has become the p6 -- but of course I could be wrong on this.

pros:
-adjust your side to where it is most comfortable to you.
cons:
-the bar in the middle of the bed, makes snuggling a bit uncomfortable
-if your partner decides to crowd your side of the bed, it is no longer comfortable.(imagine a ziploc bag filled with air, as you apply more pressure, the rest of the bag gets more firm)
-the wireless remote eats batteries
-your kids will mess with your settings and then hide the remote so you can't fix it.

We have had this bed for 2.5yrs and it is probably the worst 3k we have ever spent... well, after that little blue car my hubby bought in college.I wish we had looked into the temperpedic models more.Next bed will come sooner rather than later and will not be a sleep number!

12" King Memory Foam Mattress Bed - FREE SHIPPING IN 48 STATES! Review

Well, my three-year old was a bit disappointed when she discovered that you couldn't bounce on our new mattress, but my wife and I have loved it.My wife, who is pregnant, has loved it since the first night, and no longer has any pain in her sciatic nerve like she did on our previous mattress.

It's very comfortable.I was worried it might be too hard or too soft or not supportive enough, but it really does just feel great. I don't know if the 12" is truly any better than the 10", but we certainly don't regret getting the extra 2 inches of depth.

Negatives:
My wife has mentioned that it has an odor of plastic or something, but I haven't noticed it.She still wouldn't trade it for anything, though. It's only been one week though, and even that may dissipate with a little more time.

And the warranty is actually pretty limited. Nevertheless, if we have to pay to replace it even 5 years from now, it will have been worth it.

Here's the actual warranty received with the mattress; see paragraph 4 for the length of the coverage, and paragraph 3 for the disappointing clause "not responsible for... faulty workmanship" -- YIKES!:

----------------------------------------
100% Customer Satisfaction Guarantee

Covered Products:
Mattresses manufactured by Sleep Shop will be covered by the terms and conditions of this warranty. The Sleep Shop will approve all designs that are 100% Sleep Shop foam and do not contain foam from other manufacturers.

Claim Limitations:
Warranty is limited to Sleep Shop products only. Any and all subsequent materials, labor, and/or freight and/or delivery charges are not covered under this warranty.Warranty coverage is limited to original purchaser.

Exclusions:
The Sleep Shop is not responsible for any subsequent damage resulting from product failure due to faulty workmanship by manufacturer and/or if finished product is abused or misused in any way or exposed to any liquids or chemical products. The Sleep Shop reserves the right to inspect all mattresess involved in warranty claims. All inspections will take place at the designated customer's manufacturing facility.

Coverage Period:
Sleep Shop Memory Foam is guaranteed to retain at least 90% of its original loft for a period of up to 10 years, covering the average life of a mattress.
----------------------------------------

Then, as a footnote at the bottom:

"Additional 10 year warranty applies to mattress only and not pads."

So I guess it really is a 20 year warranty, though it reads like you're only covered for 10 years.

My wife is returning our un-opened Tempurpedic-brand pillows so we can buy the much cheaper versions from Sleep Shop.

Full Size 12" Therapeutic Memory Foam Mattress with 5" 5LB density Viscoelastic Memory Foam. FREE SHIPPING IN 48 STATES!!! Review

I didnt have the shipping issues the other reviewer did--my bed arrived from fed-ex exactly on time and packed up perfectly. Maybe the only downside was i had to haul the mattress to my actual apartment as the fed-ex guy only got it as far as my elevator.

As for the bed itself, super comfy. I wish they had made the full-size with the air-venting bottom foam cuz it does get a teensie bit warm, but i sleep with my window open so its not a big deal for me. You cut open the vacuum plastic packaging and the thing unfolds and inflates itself. The smell took a few days to dissipate, but it really wasnt horribly smelly to begin with.

Overall, very satisfied with this purchase and at 399 shipping included, really cannot be beat!

12" QUEEN Celebrity w/Pillowtop with Dual Air Flow Memory Foam Mattress with 5" 5.3LB Density Viscoelastic Memory Foam. Review

So, it's not a $2500 brand name mattress. However, I could not feel any difference, having tried the expensive brand name in a store. The Queen Pillow-top mattress was delivered yesterday with the packaging in good order. I unpacked it (nice mattress cover fitted, btw) and there was a very slight latex smell which dissipated almost immediately and after a couple of hours, the mattress was "inflated" to full size, along with the two queen pillows I ordered, so I put on the mattress pad and a set of sheets and enjoyed a great night's sleep! No 2am wake-ups (which happened regularly) and I woke up at 5:00am feeling rested with no back-ache (which used to happen regularly.

This mattress works for me, at least based on one night - time will tell, but so far I like it a lot. And for the price, you can't beat it.

Update: I've now been sleeping on this mattress for a couple of months and would not change it. It's supportive and comfortable, does not hold heat, and I usually sleep through the night - sometimes waking up in the same position I fell asleep. Still works for me ...
